Volunteering For The SPCA

Thank you for your interest in Volunteering for the SPCA.  Please read this information and if interested fill out the Volunteer Application Form by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

  • Teens age 13 and older are welcome to volunteer without adult supervision. However, we ask that a parent or guardian attend a Volunteer Orientation with your teen prior to volunteering.

  • Eleven and Twelve-Year-Olds must complete twenty volunteer hours with adult supervision (a parent or guardian 18 years or older) prior to volunteering without an adult. After twenty hours, we will work with the child volunteers’ parent or guardian to assess whether the child volunteer is ready to work unsupervised.

  • Children who are ten and under are welcome to volunteer, but must be supervised by an adult at all times.

  • Groups of all sizes are welcome to volunteer together. Please contact us to help organize your volunteer activity. If you are a leader of a group that includes youth, please plan to divide your volunteers into groups of one adult to each four to five youth. When you contact us, please let us know the total number of volunteers, the ages of the volunteers, and the dates that you will be available.

Volunteer Orientation:

Meetings are EVERY Thursday at 5pm and are held at the main Shelter located at 141 Canna Lane, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.
